SCOTT WHITEHURST
Scott is currently an Assistant Professor of Professional Practice and a core faculty member of the Acting division at Columbia University School of the Arts. He was formerly Co-head of the MFA Acting Department at The New School for Drama
He has appeared Off-Broadway in: Into The Hazard [Henry 5] at Walkerspace, Incommunicado with Tom Aldredge at the Judith Anderson, Jeffrey with John Michael Higgins at the Minetta Lane, Black Eagles at Manhattan Theatre Club, Waiting for Lefty with Marisa Tomei directed by Joanne Woodward at Blue Light Theatre, One Fine Day at Soho Rep, and 10 classical productions at the Pearl Theatre Company. Regionally, Scott has appeared at: Arena Stage, Arkansas Rep, Bristol Riverside Theatre, Cincinnati Playhouse, Contemporary American Theatre Festival, Crossroads Theatre, Ford’s, Geva, Geffen Playhouse, Indiana Rep, Pioneer Theatre, Pittsburgh Public, Rep of St Louis, The Shakespeare Theatre (DC), Stamford Center for the Arts, and 11 productions at The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey. On Television, he has worked on: “Elementary”, “Evil”, “The Good Wife”, “House of Cards”, “Law & Order”, “Law & Order: CI”, “Madam Secretary”, “Simple Justice”, and “Six Degrees”
Scott is an alumnus of Columbia College, Columbia University (BA) and Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University (MFA) where he studied with Master Teachers William Esper and Maggie Flanigan. He is a proud member of AEA, SAG-AFTRA, and the National Alliance of Acting Teachers
